THE SCREENING PROCESS

What the screening process may include

Initial application and agency interview
Semen analysis and fertility laboratory assessment
Personal and three-generation family medical history review
Genetic carrier screening
Infectious-disease testing
Physical examination and other clinic-required testing
Psychological or psychoeducational consultation, when required
Legal agreements before donation
Final approval by the participating fertility clinic or laboratory

Important to know

Agency prequalification is not the same as medical clearance. A donor may be accepted for initial screening by Donate or Surrogate but must still satisfy the medical, laboratory, regulatory, and legal requirements of the participating fertility clinic before donation can proceed.
