LEGAL
Donate or Surrogate ("we", "us") helps intended parents build their families through egg donation, sperm donation and surrogacy. People share very personal information with us, and we take that seriously. This policy explains what we collect through donateorsurrogate.com, why we collect it, who can see it and the choices you have.

If you have a question about this policy, email us at [email protected] or write to Donate or Surrogate, 8383 Wilshire Blvd, Beverly Hills, CA 90211.
When you contact us. Your name, email address, phone number, the reason you are getting in touch and your message.
When you apply as an egg donor, sperm donor or surrogate. Your name and contact details, date of birth, where you live, your height, weight, hair and eye colour, ethnic origin and heritage, education and occupation, and answers about your health, pregnancies, lifestyle and family background. The full egg donor application, which our team sends you after a first conversation, also asks about your personal and family medical history. You can upload photos of yourself.
When you request access to our donor database. Your name, email address, country, clinic or agency, and what you are looking for in a donor.
When you have an account. Your name, email address and password (stored in a form that cannot be read back, never as plain text).
If you pay online. When online payments are available, card payments are handled by our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We keep a record of the payment and what it was for.
Automatically, when you visit. Like most websites, our servers record technical details such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. We use this to keep the site secure, stop spam and fix problems.
We use only the cookies the site needs to work: for example, to keep you signed in to the donor database and to protect our forms from abuse. We use Cloudflare to protect and speed up the site, and its privacy-focused analytics, which counts visits without using cookies. The accessibility menu may remember your display preferences in your own browser.
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.
Do Not Track. Because we do not track visitors across websites, our site works the same whether or not your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal.
• To answer your enquiry and talk with you about our programs.
• To review your application and decide, with you, whether to move forward.
• To create a donor or surrogate profile, with your agreement, so intended parents can consider you.
• To verify and approve intended parents before they can see donor profiles.
• To arrange the next steps of a donation or surrogacy journey, including with clinics and other professionals involved.
• To keep the website secure, prevent fraud and spam, and meet our legal obligations.
We use health and medical information only to assess suitability for a program and to support the medical and legal steps that follow.
Our team. Only staff who need it to do their job, each with their own login.
Approved intended parents. Donor profiles are visible only to intended parents we have personally reviewed and approved. Profiles use a first name or pseudonym and a donor code. They never show a donor's full name or contact details.
Clinics and professionals. When a match moves forward, we share the information needed with the fertility clinic, attorneys and other professionals involved, as part of the process you have agreed to.
Service providers. Companies that host our website, deliver our email and process payments handle data for us under contract and only to provide those services.
When the law requires it. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our clients, donors, surrogates or others.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires. If an application does not go forward, you can ask us to delete it at any time. Photos uploaded with an application are stored privately and are deleted when no longer needed.
Donor photos and applicant photos are stored privately, never in a public folder, and can only be opened by approved accounts or our staff. The donor database is behind a vetted sign-in, and our emails about new applications do not contain the applicant's answers. The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe and will tell you if a breach affects you, as the law requires.
You can ask us to:
• tell you what personal information we hold about you;
• correct anything that is wrong;
• delete your information;
• stop using your information for any purpose you have not agreed to.
California residents. Under California law (including the California Consumer Privacy Act), you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose; to request deletion and correction; to limit our use of sensitive personal information; and not to be treated differently for using these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in that law. You can also ask us, once a year and free of charge, about any disclosure of personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing; we do not make such disclosures.
To make a request, email [email protected]. We will confirm your identity before acting on it, and you may name an authorised agent to ask for you.
We work with intended parents around the world. Our website and records are hosted in the United States, so information you send us is processed there.
Our website and programs are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top.
